Join us to “Do Mor” for Cancer Research!

9.28.24

6pm to 10pm (and most likely, later!)

Join us for our 2nd Annual DO MOR for Cancer Research Gala on 9.28.24 for a night of amazing food, live music and dancing, a surprise entertainer—and a live and silent auction—to help raise valuable research funds for lung cancer research for the Mass General Hospital-Brigham Hospital Cancer Center.

Cancer affects almost every family. In 1996, Lung Cancer took my Dad – a lifelong smoker. In 2023, Richard was diagnosed with Lung Cancer – a person who had never smoked a day in his life. Our diagnosis came on January 2, 2023 – and it forever changed how we operate as a couple. We wanted to be private at first, but then, we decided that being open about our journey, might help others.  We created the “DoMor for Cancer Research Gala & Auction” which netted $32,000 last June. We could not have done it — and we cannot do it… without our sponsors and our guests. This year, our goal is $100,000.  We sincerely hope you will join us on Saturday, September 28, 2024, to continue to raise money for research – and the importance of early detection.

We have met many people along the way – people who have survived Cancer and want to work on our Gala to make us all more aware, less alone, more informed, and genuinely, better stewards of our own health.

Richard took part in a documentary by KPMG focusing on Precision Medicine. The link will be available soon.  We have been contacted by many folks who want to work on this Gala – so you’ll meet our team as we roll out all the amazing facets of our Gala and Auction.  Some of our team are cancer survivors – lung, ovarian, and colon, specifically.

We’re thrilled to have Dr. Hugh Auchincloss, Richard’s Surgeon, back to speak to us about the last year in research and how we can help make his efforts benefit those in our families and communities.

We will also welcome Dr. Lecia Sequist, Medical Oncologist, and Program Director, Cancer Early Detection and Diagnosis Clinic & Landry Family Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sequist is the helm of many projects that are directly impacting the success of therapies for patients. One of her discoveries plays a daily role in Richard’s health.

Join us for a night of good food, lots of dancing (2 Bands!) and Concert Pianist, and an amazing live auction, hosted by John Turco.

xo,

Abby and Richard Gray
